Swimming Lessons
Dive into summer with fun, safe, and engaging swim lessons at the Centennial Swim Center in Gresham, OR! Our program offers a variety of classes for all ages and skill levels, from first-time swimmers to those looking to improve their strokes. Please note: registration is for in-district residents only.
General Information
Pre-Registration: Saturday, June 20 from 1:00PM – 3:00PM
Additional Registration: During pool operational hours.
Private and Semi-Private swim lessons are available upon request. Please contact individual sim instructors for details. (Contact information available at a later time.)
Fees
$35 – 8 Lessons, 30-Minutes Long
Cash or Check Only, No Credit or Debit Cards
There will be no make-up lessons or refunds after the second day of classes.
Attention: Parents are allowed to watch the swim lessons provided that they stay in the spectator area. The pool reserves the right to limit access to spectators at any time.

Monday – Thursday (No lessons on Fridays)

Times and Class Offerings
- 9:00AM – 9:30AM: Levels 1-5
- 9:40AM – 10:10AM: Kindergarten
- 10:20AM – 10:50AM: Levels 1-5
- 11:00AM – 11:30AM: Kindergarten, Levels 1-5
Swim Lesson Levels
Kindergarten: Maximum of 5 students per instructor in each class; 5-6 years old; non-floaters. Activities include water adjustment, playing games, floating and kicking.
Levels 1-3: Ages 6 and older; non-floater to 40 feet of crawl stroke (one width of pool); maximum of 9 students per class.
Level 4, Stroke Improvement: Requirement - Pass Level 3 and/or be able to swim 40 feet of crawl stroke (one width of pool.) Minimum of 5 students per class.
Level 5, Stroke Refinement: Requirement - Pass Level 4 and/or be able to swim 40 feet (one width of pool) of crawl stroke and know breaststroke, elementary backstroke, buttterfly, and sidestroke. Minimum of 5 students per class.
Centennial Pool Rules
1. All persons should take a cleansing shower before entering the pool.
2. No person suffering from a communicable disease transmissible via water or under the influence of an intoxicating liquor or drug shall use the pool.
3. No person shall swim alone.
4. No running, pushing, dunking, horseplay, swearing, spitting, or unnecessary roughness allowed.
5. Do not swim if you have open wounds.
6. Do not swim if you are ill with diarrhea or have had diarrhea within the past 2 weeks.
7. Do not swallow or spit water.
8. BATHERS who are incontinent or not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
9. Diaper changing on the DECK is prohibited.
10. Intentional hyperventilation or extended breath holding activities are dangerous and prohibited.
11. Immuno-compromised individuals should use caution when using a public AQUATIC VENUE.
12. To swim in the deep-end, you must be able to swim one width of the pool with good body position.
13. Non-swimmers under 48” (4 feet) must be accompanied by an adult, in the water within arms reach. Children under the age of 14 years must have direct supervision by a person aged 18 years or older.
14. Persons in street clothes and shoes are not permitted on the pool deck.
15. There is no diving allowed in the shallow end. You may only dive in the deep-end in designated areas. There are no flips allowed off the side of the pool.
16. One person at a time on the diving board, one bounce, swim to the nearest ladder or shallow end. No running on the diving board.
17. The balls must stay in the water. No chucking the ball across the pool deck, and do not hang on the basketball rim.
18. If it floats (kick boards, dumbbells, etc), it stays in the shallow end unless approved by the lifeguard.
19. Food, beverages, and gum are prohibited in the pool area. No glass.
20. No hanging on the lifeline that separates the shallow and deep-end of the pool.
21. No animals in the AQUATIC VENUE and no animals on the DECK, except service animals, if applicable.
22. Report all injuries to the lifeguard.
23. Follow all directions from the lifeguard. Failure to follow the directions from the lifeguard may result in the loss of your swimming privileges.
