In the 2013-2014 school year our previous ASB President, Jacque Nelson, created a new grant program. As a part of her presidential goals for the school year, she wanted to give an opportunity to clubs and activities in the school to raise money for their organizations. She knew many of them had trouble promoting their program and being able to get a significant amount of money for their club so, she took a stand and created a new program at Centennial High School.
The grant program allows clubs and activities to apply for a grant of up to $500 every year. This money comes from the profits of merchandize and the coffee cart in the student store. The application includes a questionnaire form of how the money is planned on being used which will go directly back to the students. After that there is another form of how the money was actually use throughout the year and how it benefited the students such as, new equipment bought or a learning event that the students were able to participate in because of the funding.
